A rare pair of “Filur” outdoor wall lamps prod

A rare pair of “Filur” outdoor wall lamps produced by LYFA in Denmark during the 1980s.

With their sculptural, flowing silhouette, galvanized steel construction and softly diffused white opaline glass shades, the Filur is a beautiful example of Danish outdoor lighting from the period. Functional yet expressive, the design has a distinctive architectural presence whether illuminated or not.

Both lamps are in outstanding vintage condition and retain their original Lyfa manufacturer labels.

Tatami Chairs by Verner Panton for Fritz Becker.

Originally produced exclusively for the Japanese market, these chairs are considerably rarer than many of his better-known designs and are seldom seen as a matching pair.

Crafted from beautifully shaped plywood with their distinctive flowing silhouette, they embody Panton’s fascination with sculptural furniture while paying homage to traditional Japanese living.

Both chairs are in good vintage condition. The original seat cushions remain intact, each showing some staining, slight fading and minor colour variation between the two cushions due to age and use. As the upholstery is original, I’ve chosen to leave them untouched, allowing the next owner to decide whether to preserve their authenticity or have them professionally reupholstered. The cushions are removable, making reupholstery a straightforward process if desired.

This example features the sought-after walnut version and measures Ø47 cm. It remains in good vintage condition, with a beautiful patina that reflects its age and authenticity.

Dansk Møbelkunst is far more than a book — it’s a remarkable documentation of the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibitions from 1927-1951, the exhibitions that helped define what the world now knows as Danish Modern.

Published in 1951 by Rasmus Navers Forlag, this first edition brings together furniture by the era’s most influential cabinetmakers and architects, capturing the extraordinary craftsmanship and innovation that placed Denmark at the forefront of international furniture design.

A particularly charming detail is the dedication to His Majesty King Frederik IX, who served as patron of the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition.

This is an essential reference — filled with historic photographs and invaluable insight into one of the most influential periods in Danish design.

A rare set of six original copper outdoor lamps by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen — all sourced from the same architect-designed villa in Rungsted Kyst.

Over decades of exposure to the elements, the lamps have developed a deep, honest patina with beautiful verdigris and weathered surfaces — each telling its own story. They naturally show signs of age and use, adding to their authenticity and character.

Kristian Vedel wall-mounted shelf designed in 1949

Kristian Vedel wall-mounted shelf designed in 1949 and produced by master cabinetmaker I. Christiansen.

A beautifully crafted Danish Modern piece featuring a solid mahogany shelf suspended by elegantly steam-bent beech brackets. The triangular brackets are formed from bent beech, laminated together and reinforced at the front, allowing each bracket to be mounted to the wall with a single screw — an ingenious and remarkably clean construction that reflects Kristian Vedel’s functional approach to design.

The model is illustrated in Dansk Møbelkunst gennem 40 år – Københavns Snedkerlaugs Møbeludstillinger (Vol. 3, p. 95). A contemporary review, originally published in the Danish newspaper Land og Folk, praised the innovative bracket construction and noted that, if mass-produced, each bracket could likely have been manufactured for around 1 Danish krone, while the shelves themselves “would hardly cost a fortune.” A charming insight into the original ambition of creating an affordable everyday object — quite the contrast to its status today, as these shelves are rarely encountered on the market and have become highly sought after by collectors of Danish Modern design.

The shelf is in good vintage condition with a beautiful patina and age-related signs of use consistent with its age.
